ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
40 years after this timeless classic was composed by a young Hawaiian in High School, we invited 1,000 youth, artists & collaborators across 4 islands to pull together their time, mana & resources - to record & film this song, live on location @ 29 scenes, each with its own story.
This video was produced to spread the message of aloha aina and raise awareness and support for the Mana Mele Project, where youth learn their ABCʻs - Academics, Business & Culture, through music, engineering, and video production.

Mana Maoli & Playing for Change present “Island Style - ‘Oiwi E” featuring Hawaii’s top ʻMana Mele Collectiveʻ artists across many genres and 1,000 Hawaiian Charter School youth in one epic video, recorded live across 15 locations. This medley was produced to honor 2 families, and raise awareness and support for the Mana Mele Project, where youth learn their ABCʻs - Academics, Business & Culture, through music, engineering, and video production.
ABOUT THE SONGS:
“Island Style” is dedicated to the Cruz ʻohana, who lost their oldest brother Ernie Cruz, Jr and their youngest brother Guy Cruz, 2 days apart, just months after losing their father, Ernie Cruz Sr.

"Hawai’i Aloha" features Hawai‘i’s top artists across many genres and youth from 10 charter schools in one epic song, recorded live across 27 locations on Oʻahu and Kauaʻi. It is a song of unity and Aloha ‘Aina - expressing love for one’s birthplace and home.
ABOUT THE SONG
"Hawaiʻi Aloha," also called "Kuʻu One Hanau," is a revered anthem of Hawaiʻi residents written by Lorenzo Lyons.
Since 2002 we have produced over 100 tracks, from Hawai'i's favorites to underground and youth artists.
